"Analog Girl in a Digital World"
Analog Girl in a Digital World” is an
interdisciplinary group art show featuring emerging and established
female artists and chronicles how modern technology plays
a role in their lives and their work. This event will showcase
traditional mediums of art (illustration, painting, sculpture,
photography) to “non-traditional” (knitting, grafitti,
multi-medium sculpture and collage) to digital art (vector,
digitally manipulated collages) or any combination of these
techniques.
The featured artists are:
Amy Fredrick, Cephalopawn, CHARM, Cristina Tacata, Karin Anna
Cheung, Kwen, Gregory Pacificar, MECA ISA, Mia Villanueva,
Ms. YE Torres, Naomi Valdivia, Philippa Isherwood, phloe,
Rebecca Baroma, SHERM, shredONE, Urban Envy, and alfie numeric.
The opening reception is on Sunday, April 1st,
2007, beginning at 5pm. Nommo, a spoken word/open mic show,
will close out the night from 730pm-10pm. An all-female line-up
will be featured for the night; Djs are ShredONE (hip hop,
breakbeats), Volare (Trip Hop, Electronica, Ambient) and De
La (World Music, Folk, Funk); Spoken word artists are Kalamity
Jane, Ashley Moon, and Meymuna.
The show is held at Lost Souls Café and Gallery, located
in the Old Bank District of Downtown LA, Harlem Place Alleyway,
